Regus: 3420 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, California
Well, well, well, I just found the most attractive, aesthetically pleasing Regus I’ve ever seen. For those who don’t know, Regus is a company that offers office space all over the globe. Let’s say you travel a lot, like me, and you need an office to meet with a client on the road, Regus would be an option. I have visited enough of them through the years to know what to expect, a drab/dour color scheme, the atmosphere of a hospital waiting room, and the coffee station, lounge, and kitchen almost always in the same place, which would be close to the reception area. All in all, you get what you need, from printing and mail services to a dedicated business phone and executive assistant services. The rentals are flexible, too, as you can rent for the day, week, month, you get the idea.
So, what a pleasant surprise when I find myself walking into the beautiful months old Regus in Costa Mesa, California. I first noticed the Aqua, which usually turns me off, but this was a pleasant shade for the walls. Juxtapose the aqua walls with wood elements and accents, and you have something that pops. There was also space, space for everything to breathe. The lobby/waiting area was clean, cozy, and had interesting books on the tables. The coffee/lounge area was large with enough space for many people to stretch, take breaks, and have a snack. I loved the floor to ceiling windows next to the doors where you have privacy without the claustrophobic feeling you get when you get an office the size of a closet. My office for the day was a good size for two people, and I appreciated the desk lamp, which I prefer to those horrid ceiling lights.
And a special shout out to Rosie, my host for the day, whose kindness set the tone. There was a hiccup with my reservation, and while other people make you wait until the money part is taken care of, Rosie showed why she was trusted with opening a new location. Rosie gave me an office so that I could prepare for my meeting and told me to just make sure everything is square before I leave. When you’ve already had a full morning, and you meet someone with Rosie’s energy and approach, it sets the tone for your day.
