National Car Rental, PDX, Portland, Oregon

I do not like driving anymore, for many reasons. I’ll go into it one day in a proper post, but I wanted to get that out there. Which means I also don’t like renting cars. As someone with a love and passion for travel, renting cars is the only thing I dislike about the traveling process. With that said, I wanted to shout out two special people who made my recent experience, a nice one.

PDX is the airport for Portland, Oregon, where I flew into. I like to take my time when I do anything because you’re less likely to make mistakes, and I like to be thorough. Which means, when I land, I always find a United Club, so I can use the restroom, get a snack, and sit with my thoughts while planning out my next steps in whatever city I am visiting. Once I was done, I headed to the Car Rental Center.

As I left the National desk to head to the parking lot, there was Susan smiling as she walked towards me. Within seconds, she’d already pointed out the car I would drive and just made what is usually a dry, sometimes annoying process, such a joy in a short amount of time. There was one hiccup with my reservation, though, and Susan jumped on it. When she was mulling over different options, she involved Andrea, so now I had two people working on my issue. Andrea was just as kind and made the process of redoing my reservation simple and easy. Next thing I know, I’m signing papers, and ready to go. Andrea and Susan wished me well, smiled and waved. I was off.

It may seem small, but the greatest gift we can give each other is to be kind. So, if you ever find yourself renting from National out of PDX, I hope you are fortunate to receive the same wonderful care I did.
