While the original "Happy Happy Joy Joy" pulsated with the immediate, high-contrast energy of complementary orange and blue, No. 2 marks a deliberate departure in its palette. I chose to explore a more muted harmony with beige and gray. This shift was a conscious artistic decision to delve into a different emotional register and visual experience. Where the first piece might evoke immediate exuberance, the subtle interplay of beige and gray in No. 2 invites a more contemplative engagement, perhaps a gentler introspection within the motif's inherent dynamism.
Beyond the chromatic shift, the format also evolved. The original "Happy Happy Joy Joy" was confined within a square, a balanced and self-contained composition. For No. 2, I embraced the rectangle.
