Food | Slapfish | Lehi, Utah

Now, how am I just finding out about Slapfish?! I was disappointed that the weather did not cooperate preventing me from getting awe inspiring mountain photos, but, food can make up for a lot ;)
I love seafood, so I had to give this place a try. The decor is that of the outside of a Marina where you catch and clean fish. A nice touch since this was something I did with my father.

I especially love lobster, so I chose the lobster taquitos and the lobster roll, the second place I’ve been to where they serve the lobster roll WARM! My favorite way to eat them.

If you find yourself in Lehi, make this your first stop ;)

Hotel | Hilton Garden Inn | Lehi, Utah

I love the Hilton Brand, but for a while I didn’t know how to feel about Hilton Garden Inn. In the past, I found them to be inconsistent from property to property, but that changed in the past two years when I believe a redesign and identity was established. I now know I can count on the Hilton Garden Inn for great breakfast, clean, minimal design, and wide open space. They also have full bars that are much appreciated by Road Warriors. As this is my first time in Utah, I was so happy to find a Hilton Garden Inn in Lehi that was in the middle of everything. I had the best room, and service. Can’t wait to come back.

Utah

Utah!
My first time here; the 46th state I’ve visited. I was most excited to take photos of these the lovely mountains, but it was not to be as it was either raining, snowing, or overcast, so I am not proud of the batch of outdoor photos I took. I’ll have to come back soon

Food | Poor Boy Lloyd's Seafood Restaurant | Baton Rouge

As soon as I drop off my things at the hotel, I always ask the hotel staff where the locals eat. As I approached Poor Boy Lloyd’s, it looked old, and it has been my experience that that is a good sign. As I entered, the decor reminded me of a dining room that had seen many family dinners over the course of several decades; meaning, cozy, haphazard, and charming. The ladies that greeted me were warm and seeing that I was new, walked me through the menu, specials, and the ordering process. I chose the Shrimp Po Boy and went to find a seat. As I searched, I noticed an old man sitting in front of a large front window in an area that can only be described as a miniature convenience store. A rack next to him had candy galore, and a register, which told me he only takes cash. If there is a Lloyd, I have a feeling this is him.

As for the food; I don’t know what the standard is for Po Boy’s, but this was a good sandwich, though I found the bread to be too firm and crispy, but I’ve always been partial to soft bread. But, the breaded and fried shrimp were falling out of the sandwich there were so many, and the cajun style fries were the perfect accompaniment.

After I ate, I was given a ticket and told to pay up front. Of course! ‘Lloyd!’ I was so pleased with my meal that even with FOX News blaring I maintained my happy mood. I paid in cash, ‘Lloyd’ gave me a mint, and wished me well.

MELD

I love food. I call it edible Art. And I love finding new restaurants, cafe's, and bars. A new addition to Bentonville, Arkansas, and just steps away from the Walmart Home Office is Meld. For the 9 - 5iver and business traveler, it is an ideal place to grab lunch, as the service is quick, and Julie, the manager is attentive to your needs.

Meld offers fresh made salads, pizzas, tacos, burgers, and along with grab and go items. They also feature local roasted coffee.

So far, my favorite is 'The Catch'; a lightly blackened fish, provolone, lettuce, tomato folded sandwich. But I can also brag about the chicken and fish tacos, brocolli/cheddar soup, and their lovely cole slaw.
